Access to your backups 24/7

The same software that performs your daily backups can be used to retrieve your data from SafeLink’s data vaults on call, 24 hours 7 days a week.

This is convenient for retrieving a document or directory, however, in the event of complete data loss, SafeLink can send you a CD/DVD of your data [1].

Roll back your data

SafeLink offers data roll back on your backed up data. This enables you to go back in time and retrieve a file or set of files on a particular day. This facility is most useful when an error takes place, but is not discovered for several weeks. Accounting data roll back is an invaluable tool for accountants when verifying figures across several weeks.

Is my current backup routine not adequate?

Most small businesses rely on ZIP disk or External hard drives for data backup. Larger companies use Tape drives or a mixture of both. These technologies have their downsides.

SafeLink Resolution

Floppy / ZIP Disks

Manual: Backup relies on human intervention. If forgotten or user is out of time, the backup is not done.

SafeLink is an automated solution that requires NO human intervention.

Time consuming: The user has to wait for the backup to complete.

SafeLink runs after hours consuming NO user time.

Failure rate: High. Many users do not know their disks are unreadable until they try to restore data.

SafeLink’s data Vaults have redundant fall back to protect against failure.

Storage capacity: Low. As data increases, businesses are finding this media cannot hold enough data and therefore some data is not backed up or data is spooled over multiple disks.

SafeLink storage is allocated to you as you require it [2].

Tape Drive

Expensive: Effective tape backup requires a good tape drive. These are expensive to buy and repair.

SafeLink requires no capital investment or repair work.

Not offsite: Taking the data offsite is a manual process and this doesn’t happen until the following day, as most business run their backups at night.

SafeLink stores your data offsite immediately on backup and automatically.

Roll Back: Limited to the number of tapes you have.

SafeLink offers 30 days rollback standard and additional if required [3].

High maintenance: Tapes fail and integrity checks need to be run often. This is rarely done by most companies.

SafeLink requires no maintenance checks. Optional spot checks can be run by the user.

External Hard drive

Manual: In most case the hard drive backup is manual and therefore time consuming.

SafeLink is an automated solution that requires NO human intervention.

Automatic: If software is available to automate the process, the entire unit must be left onsite over night and therefore all the data is at risk of being lost in a fire / robbery.

SafeLink stores you data offsite immediately on backup and automatically.

Roll Back: None. These devices do not usually offer any form of data roll back.

SafeLink offers 30 days rollback standard and additional if required [3].

Hard Disk Backup

Many software titles offer the option to backup to your Hard disk. This is not a complete solution. If your hard drive fails, you not only lose your data but also your backup.

SafeLink stores you data offsite immediately on backup and automatically.

Backup multiple computers

If you have key machines in your office that require daily backup, this data can be backed up into the same SafeLink storage vault as your server or other machines. This helps you maximise the savings in utilising SafeLink’s data service[4] by cutting the cost of requiring additional accounts.

[1] A charge applies for creation & postage of a data CD/DVD. See pricing for more information.
[2] Additional storage is charged. See pricing for more information.
[3] Additional roll back periods are charged. See pricing for more information.
[4] Additional machines attract an additional setup fee per machine. Data storage is added to current storage use.
